We opened Mulligan’s Restaurant sixteen years ago. We are so proud to promote Ireland with the best Irish fare, music and hospitality in the heart of Sydney. Sean is the Head Chef and has been a chef for over 35 years, with extensive experience in Ireland, Europe, and of Australia. We have designed the interior to look like someone's lounge of yester year, where you feel at home, this is especially appreciated by those folks away from home. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Sean & I meet on a windy wet night in Donegal many moons ago and we have been together now 31 years. We have two lovely sons, two beautiful daughter in laws, two beautiful grandsons Ethan Alexander is almost four an Jamie Michael is almost three, we have one beautiful grandaughter Grace Erin who is almost one .
The Food
Mulligan’s specialises in home styled cooking - from you enter the front door, we have a homely atmostphere, with friendly staff to greet you, our house specials are the homemade brown bread you receive with freshly curled butter to die for, then it’s our Beef & Guinness Pie, Boxty Pancakes, which are traditional pancakes of Ireland with bacon and onion and secret ingredients. For mains we have Bacon and Cabbage, Irish Stew, Braised Lamb Shanks slowly cooked with a red wine sauce. Barramundi fillets soaked overnight in Guinness, wrapped in oatmeal, pepper and lemon and baked.
Our Staff
Mary and Edel are honorary members of the Mulligan Clan, Mary has been with us since we started, and Edel came a few years later. They both are married with two beautiful girls each , Tara, Roison, Aoife and Niambh. Edel is Mulligans Manager, My Niece Cabrini is the assistant Manager. Then we have Eileen who has just arrived from Ireland to make her life here, Marie is my second cousin is a hairdresser taking a break from that, Di hailed from new zealand, We are lucky to have Jack and Roy in the kitchen helping Sean do his majic, Jack has been here 8 years Roy 2, We all worked together like one big family, this is especially good, since we all left our families back in Ireland.
Jimmy is our resident singer who has entertained all at Mulligan’s since 1994, he has a wonderful selection of ballads and tunes.
We are been sooo happy here, our customers over the years have become our friends, it’s a happy place with so many wonderful memories
